Paul Gardner's Place by The Marina

Last update: 10th July 1997

This place is under constant refurbishment.

I'm not sure if this is copyrighted but please tell me if you know. I got it from a great HTML Editor called CoffeeCup.

This counter tells me that I am not all alone in the world as people have popped in for a chat.

About me

A little personal info. may help I guess. I'm 34 and currently teach at a prestigious university in Scotland whilst completing my PhD. My main teaching is in statistical testing and experimental methodology - including psychometric testing and organisational research - I know it sounds boring but that's my job! My main academic research is concerned with the effects of animation and interactive interfaces on learning and mental models although I've been involved in a variety of other commercial projects. It seems to me that all this bells and whistles, super-duper multimedia is a good thing but I still like to curl up with a good book.

I'm always pretty busy and that's the way I like it but I'm also keen to build up more consultancy work, preferably paid(!), so if you have an interesting project you need help with feel free to e-mail me. Pro bono work for charitable institutions is ok but if you're a business/company I'd expect a donation to my wedding fund I'm afraid.

You could of course check out a copy of my abridged c.v.

What I'm interested in:

Psychology - no, not that freudian stuff, the proper stuff ...

Guitar I play particularly badly but I am keen so maybe I'll set up some links to useful sites when I get permission. That noise you heard when you loaded this page is an intro. to a piece I'm writing

Isn't it strange that I have a full and, in the main, happy life but I can't think of any other interests?

If you are feeling particularly bored you can check out my my bookmarks.

Why do these places always make someone sound geeky? I'm sure that I'm not in real life ....probably. Who am I trying to kid nobody ever logs in here anyway so i have nothing to fear.
